White Star Line ‘Big Ship’ Route menu from Olympic, Majestic or Homeric circa 1925 showing Captain Cook landing- scarce
£18.00
I am pleased to offer a rare and original menu from White Star Line’s ‘Big Ship Route’denoting it came from either Olympic, Homeric or Majestic. Such menus stamped with Big Ship Route are virtually impossible to find and were produced circa 1926. It is also unusual to find that a menu was not issued. It belongs to a series about historical navigators that White Star commissioned with renowned publicity artist William McDowell.(1888-1950) By 1932, the Big Ship Route was no longer given this soubriquet as Homeric was switched from Atlantic service to full time cruising. There is a fold across the middle and signs of wear and ageing, otherwise it has survived well. I am confident you will not find another for sale! Any questions please feel get in touch, thank you for looking! PS I will be listing more menus from this series in future, please check back!
