Here you have an original I.M.M. travel map featuring unusual pictures of White Star Line vessels. Boasting a striking art deco cover, the highlights include excellent images of the mighty ‘Olympic’ at sea from above and a quay side perspective as she leaves her wharf. (see scans). There are also photos of MV Britannic being given a send-off by New York crowds, the new liner ‘Georgic’ passing The Battery as well as ‘Majestic’ manoeuvring. Dated 1934, the map is huge and was produced by International Mercantile Marine Company, parent company of White Star. Ironically, within a year of its publication, many vessels were retired under the Cunard White Star merger. The overall dimensions are approx. 90cm by 57cm. Maps include one of North Atlantic routes to Europe, a full size road map of Europe as well as London and Paris.
